Philip Walker has worked in most areas of the music business over the last thirty years.
He is qualified as a chartered accountant (FCA), holds a B. Bus, amongst other qualifications. He is a board member of the Australian Music Publishers Association (AMPAL) and the Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society (AMCOS) (the equivalent of MCPS). In addition to his 30 years experience in the music industry, he has owned and operated businesses in a wide variety of fields, advertising servicing, manufacturing, property and finance. He consults many advertising and film production companies.
Philip Mortlock was invited by Walker to join him after he left Warner Music in 1992 having been there for close to 18 years. Mortlock’s last position held at Warner Music was Managing Director of its East West Records label. During his time at Warner, Philip Mortlock was responsible for developing the careers of INXS, Cold Chisel, Jenny Morris, James Morrison, Mental As Anything, Mondo Rock, Ice House and 1927 , just to mention a few of the giants he has touched in the Australian music industry. Philip Mortlock is on the board of ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) being one of the two directors representing independent labels. Philip is also on the board of the Association of Independent record Labels (AIR) and is a member of the Australian Music Council. |
